Business jet cabin lighting suppliers share their latest products – from strip lighting to reading lights.
Aura COB strip lighting
Spectrum Networks is offering high-density chip-on-board (COB) strip lighting technology intended to deliver seamless, dot-less illumination with uniform light output and dynamic lighting effects. Developed for aviation, Spectrum’s solutions are designed to combine aerospace-grade reliability with the aesthetics of premium architectural environments.
Patent-pending Field Termination End Caps (FTECs) allow lighting strips to be cut to length during installation, to simplify integration and enable customised cabin configurations.
Spectrum’s digital lighting controllers – including the single-channel Uno and four-channel Quattro – provide control solutions for a range of cabin lighting applications. Designed to support both AC and DC input power architectures, the controllers enable full-spectrum RGB and tunable white lighting control.
Modular LED strip lighting
Light in an aircraft cabin affects how passengers and crew feel, how alert or relaxed they are, and how well they cope with flights and changing time zones. As such, it is a key element of modern cabin interiors.
Schott and jetlite are expanding their collaboration to introduce a new generation of cabin lighting hardware – specifically designed for VIP cabins, seats, suits and galleys – that merges chronobiological expertise with aviation-ready engineering. The collaboration draws on jetlite’s science-based lighting concepts and Schott’s decades of experience in manufacturing and certifying aviation components.
The result is a modular LED strip platform designed to deliver optimal chronobiological effectiveness. It was developed together with passengers, crew, designers and operators, to perform in line with real cabin life.
The development approach was based on a triangle of chronobiology, cabin design and onboard operations. Chronobiology defines how light supports the human body; design shapes how passengers and crew experience the cabin; and operations determine how hardware performs in daily airline service. The partners believe that only by aligning all three – and working closely together as partners – can lighting achieve its full potential.

Opal Terra

Schott and F/List are introducing the Schott Opal Terra, a new premium reading light line that integrates natural materials such as wood and stone – the intention being to transform functional lighting into a refined design element
Tailored to the requirements of business jet operators, designers and seat manufacturers, it adds to the established Schott Opal Reading Light portfolio, which also includes Schott Opal Standard and Schott Opal Cover.
Schott said the aim was to respond to growing demand for sophisticated, durable materials and elevated cabin aesthetics by combining advanced lighting technology with premium surface finishes.
“With Opal Terra, we address the increasing expectation for distinctive, high-quality interiors in business aviation,” says Klaus Portmanns, global director of sales, aviation, at Schott.
The Schott Opal family’s modular architecture is intended to support efficient certification and integration into a wide range of seat platforms. At the same time, customisation options enable alignment with cabin concepts, materials and colour schemes. Features include soft-touch operation and wide rotation flexibility.
Aerowave LED series

The Aerowave LED series is JBRND’s next-generation lighting system developed to deliver seamless, high-resolution illumination in premium aircraft cabins.
The system is designed to offer an “ultra-low” profile, as well as a lightweight architecture to integrate easily into complex structural layouts without adding unnecessary weight.
High adaptability was another key developmental aim, to allow for customisation to existing placements on retrofit applications.
As a new addition to this line, JBRND has added ceiling-mounted Halo Lights that produce a wash of illumination across the cabin. The lights deliver everything from high-clarity natural whites to a “virtually limitless spectrum of deep, vibrant colours”, the company notes.
The Halo Light fixtures can be customised into a variety of geometric shapes including squares, rectangles and racetracks. The system is powered by an RS485 controller, compatible with wireless programming to the aircraft’s CMS.
