Duncan Aviation has completed an interior and exterior refurbishment on a Falcon 900EX at its facility in Lincoln, Nebraska, drawing inspiration from the owner’s new Gulfstream aircraft.
Technological updates include the incorporation of a Collins Venue CMS, new LED lighting, USB charging ports, Future Air Navigation System (FANS) upgrades and cockpit enhancements including CPDLC capability.
Senior lead designer Stephanie Kuhn and assistant designer Lauren Burkhardt worked with the owner’s representatives to translate the aesthetics of the owner’s Gulfstream into the Falcon. “The Gulfstream featured bold diamond quilting on the seats and sharp contrasts,” said Kuhn. “For the Falcon, the owner wanted a softer, more harmonious feel.”
The foundation is a 100% wool carpet in beige. The custom seat design is upholstered in cream leather with black welt cord and soft-edge diamond stitching. The all-new seats feature recliner leg rests and flex-wing headrests. Inlays were removed, and the drinkrails were redesigned for a more modern appearance.
Duncan Aviation fitted one-piece passenger service unit (PSU) overlay panels with integrated LED up and downwash lighting. The panels are designed for easy removal and installation compared with traditional PSU panels, the company said. The new light and air vent recess areas include a radiused design and are covered in the same material as the PSU overlay. In addition, Duncan Aviation incorporated its new Finishing Touches hardware package.
“When doing a complete Falcon interior with our two, key Duncan Aviation-designed upgrades, including our Duncan Aviation-designed PSU overlay panels and our drinkrail modernisation, we provide our Finishing Touches hardware package to complete the interior transformation,” said Tracey Boesch, senior completions and modifications sales representative at Duncan Aviation. “Our design team has created new handles for the cabin window shades and drinkrails for a harmonious look with the same profile and style throughout the aircraft.”
Upper sidewalls were updated with textured Ultraleather, while lower sidewalls feature hand-tipped leather. The divan and settee were designed to coordinate with the seating, each accented with contrasting black piping. The divan features 100% heathered wool fabric. The settee is located across from the dining and conference area, and the table can be pulled inboard to create an extended dining or meeting space.
New veneer in a warm tone with linear grain pattern was installed throughout, paired with satin nickel plating.
Galley countertops were replaced with solid-surface materials that mimic the figuring of stone. The entryway was refreshed with woven black vinyl flooring and a custom logo throw rug.
The aircraft’s exterior paint scheme was based on the owner’s Gulfstream, adapted to suit the Falcon’s fuselage lines.
