Airbus Corporate Helicopters (ACH) and Mercedes-Benz have created a new ACH145 cabin design: the ACH145 Mercedes-Benz Edition, replacing the previous ACH145 Mercedes-Benz Style.
The helicopter was revealed at a showcase event in São Paulo, Brazil.
The ACH145 Mercedes-Benz collaboration began in 2010 and has delivered 26 unique examples of the previous ACH145 Mercedes-Benz Style to customers. The partnership agreement was renewed in 2021.
For the ACH145 Mercedes-Benz Edition, the focus was on embedding Mercedes-Benz’s Sensual Purity design philosophy, including an open architecture and flowing lines.
The cabin design draws reference from the Mercedes-Benz EQS and Maybach Ultimate Luxury show cars, adopting a ‘wrap-around’ interior architecture. The new seats have a sculpted design and feature coordinated stitching details.
The cabin can be configured in layouts accommodating four to eight passengers, with seating across two or three rows. Cabinets can be integrated at the front and rear. Compartments between the seats provide storage for carry-on luggage, as well as soft armrests and integrated cup holders.
Genuine wood flooring and leather are paired with metallic accents. Six interior colour and trim concepts are available, ranging from timeless elegance to sportiness. These are named Atlas, Meteor, Phoenix, Zenith, Polaris and Solaris. A bespoke finish option is also offered.
Functional and control elements have been consolidated into cohesive units to reduce visual clutter, and the design also improves access to technical components required for maintenance.
Based on the five-bladed variant of the H145, the ACH145 delivers an additional 150kg of useful payload, and reduced noise levels. It has a maximum cruise speed of 130 knots, and maximum endurance is four hours.
“As a result of the renewal of the highly successful design collaboration which introduced the concept of partnerships between the automotive and aerospace industries in 2010, ACH and Mercedes-Benz have brought together the DNA of two icons: the versatile and robust ACH145 and the charisma of Mercedes-Benz,” said Frederic Lemos, head of ACH. “Today, discerning customers can travel in a Mercedes-Benz level of comfort and style, on land and in the air.”
