Astronics Corporation subsidiaries Astronics AeroSat and Armstrong Aerospace have introduced two connectivity system components for VVIP aircraft. The shape of the AeroShield radome was designed to optimize aerodynamics, reducing drag, while also providing bird-strike hardness to meet FAA requirements. Meanwhile, the composite adapter plate is designed to simplify and standardize installation while reducing weight by 78% over traditional metal designs. The company says the new AeroShield system is ARINC 791 compliant.
