Coatings manufacturer Mankiewicz has received an Airbus Supplier Award in the Game Changer category for developing a new primer for composite components on the Airbus A350.
The award was presented at the annual Airbus Global Supplier Conference in Toulouse on 7 October 2026. According to Mankiewicz, the Game Changer award is the highest distinction Airbus gives its suppliers.
Mankiewicz supplies aviation coatings for exterior, interior and structural parts. It designed the primer specifically for composite components. The company said the primer provides “excellent adhesion, whether the aircraft is flying in freezing temperatures at 33,000ft or standing on the tarmac under the desert sun”.
Mankiewicz said Airbus recognised both the development of the product and the speed and collaborative approach with which it was brought to operational readiness.
“This award is the crowning achievement of the work and reliability our team has demonstrated over the past years, driven every day by tremendous passion and expertise – both in day-to-day operations and in product development,” said René Lang, executive managing director, aviation, at Mankiewicz.
This is the second Airbus award Mankiewicz has received in 2026. In Spring, the company won the Supply Chain and Quality Improvement Program (SQIP) Award in the Materials and Parts category for the fourth consecutive year.
