West Star Aviation announces new avionics install manager

Rusty Gardner is the new avionics install manager at West Star Aviation’s facility in East Alton, Illinois.

Gardner has more than 19 years of aviation experience and formally served as a project manager in the avionics department at West Star. He has also had positions at Flying Colours, Jet Aviation and Duncan. He served in the Air Force for seven years as a guidance and control systems specialist.

“We’re excited to promote Rusty to this position, as his strong avionics background will bring additional experience to the department as we continue to promote from within and grow our avionics team,” said Scott Sweeney, general manager of the site.

West Star Aviation specialises in the repair and maintenance of airframes, engines and APUs, avionics installations and repair, major modifications, interior refurbishment, exterior paint, surplus avionics sales, accessory services and parts.

In addition to its primary facilities in East Alton; Grand Junction, Colorado; Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Perryville, Missouri, West Star Aviation also maintains satellite facilities at Aspen-Pitkin County Airport in Aspen, Colorado; Chicago Executive Airport in Chicago, Illinois; Centennial Airport in Denver, Colorado; Conroe-North Houston Regional Airport in Houston, Texas; Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport in Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Scottsdale Airport in Scottsdale, Arizona.
