Duncan Aviation has completed a Falcon 2000EX interior refurbishment at its facility in Lincoln, Nebraska, redesigning the cabin to align with the customer’s newest Falcon 2000LXS and create a consistent fleet experience across both aircraft.
Duncan Aviation aircraft sales and acquisitions representative Rene Cardona closed the acquisition of the Falcon 2000LXS in December 2024. Following that purchase, the customer elected to upgrade and modernise its existing Falcon 2000EX to match the newly acquired aircraft.
Senior lead designer Stephanie Kuhn, design assistant Lauren Burkhardt and senior completions and modifications sales representative Tracey Boesch worked closely with the customer to achieve their vision.
Boesch, as well as senior avionics sales representative Jeff Simmons and interior design engineer II Mike Riley, travelled to meet the customer while both aircraft were available simultaneously, allowing the team to document them side by side and capture measurements, hardware details and photographic references. This brought to light additional details for consideration including new latches, the lavatory door handle and towel bar, magnetised main entry door curtain panels and finishes.
While the intent was to replicate the LXS model aircraft’s interior, Kuhn and Burkhardt identified opportunities to enhance select materials. The original silk carpet was replaced with a 100% wool version for improved durability, while retaining the same triangular geometric pattern but with darker, richer tones.
The refurbishment included a complete re-veneer of all cabinetry throughout the aircraft using heavily figured walnut with a lighter tone to match the LXS. Seating was refreshed with a warmer colour palette, and modern rectangular latches with satin antique nickel plating were installed throughout the cabin.
New lunel accent lighting was added to the PSU panels, and the Dassault LXS wave-inspired backsplash was incorporated into the upper sidewall at the drink rail, using veneer trim that follows the curve of the table enclosures.
Galley flooring was finished in woven vinyl, with matching carpet in the lavatory. Dark Corian countertops were installed throughout, and the lower sidewalls were redesigned with vertical seams and trim to echo the LXS interior.
In the flight deck, the AirCell handset was replaced and avionics were updated. To ensure the flight deck pedestal accurately reflected the LXS as closely as possible, Duncan Aviation’s interior team re-shaped a composite panel to achieve the required contours before wrapping it in carbon fibre Ultraleather. Completions master specialist Cory Ebbers invested considerable time and effort ahead of time to achieve the precise look and fit.
Avionics upgrades included a Collins Venue CMS, LED lighting, USB charging ports and Gogo Galileo connectivity. Duncan Aviation said the installation was the first Gogo Galileo fitment on a Falcon 2000 outside of the factory. Gogo MB13 antennas were also installed in preparation for future Gogo LX5 capability.
The customer’s assistant VP said: “The exceptional experience we had was largely due to the incredible efforts of Stephanie Kuhn, Lauren Burkhardt and Tracey Boesch. Their combined expertise in design and project management, coupled with their outstanding client service, resulted in an interior that surpassed all our expectations.”
“While our initial aim was to replicate our other aircraft’s interior, the designer’s recommendations elevated it considerably,” they continued. “We received samples of proposed materials or finishes at our doorstep within a day of each suggested change, showcasing the truly first-class service we received from Duncan Aviation.”
