G550 to be fitted with medevac interior for service in Beijing

A Gulfstream G550 will be fitted with medevac equipment to support the disaster relief and air rescue service work of The Beijing Red Cross Emergency Medical Center.

The organization will be able to perform inflight emergency resuscitation, because the aircraft will feature hospital beds that can track inboard to enable better access to the patient. Other equipment will include a medical bay, refrigerated medical storage cabinets and x-ray viewing equipment. Medical staff will be catered for with berthing crew rests, and fold-out seats for nurses. The airstairs will feature a powered gurney loading system.

“The G550’s tremendous performance, outstanding cabin environment and interior flexibility are ideal for medevac missions,” said Scott Neal, senior vice president, worldwide sales, Gulfstream. “We are committed to working with customers to deliver an aircraft that exceeds their requirements, and this uniquely tailored G550 is no exception. The aircraft’s customizable cabin will serve as an example for future programs.”
