Four business jet OEMs select Inmarsat’s Jet ConneX as linefit option

0

Four major business jet manufacturers are now offering Inmarsat’s Jet ConneX global wi-fi broadband service as a linefit option. Jet ConneX had already been accepted as the preferred linefit option on Gulfstream and Bombardier aircraft.

Inmarsat recently gained additional confirmations from Dassault and Embraer – the service is available now for linefit on Dassault Falcon jets, and from early 2018 will also be linefit on Embraer Lineage 1000E jets.

All four companies are using Honeywell’s JetWave hardware to connect to the service. The hardware is available for forward-fit or retrofit.

Jet ConneX service is provided courtesy of Inmarsat’s Ka-band satellite network. The company says it enables data plans up to 15Mbps, with consistent global coverage across all major airline routes. As Inmarsat has control over its satellite capacity, it can add to it ahead of demand.
