Vision Systems has collaborated in the development of the H160 that Airbus Helicopters presented for the first time in Europe at the Paris Air Show (June 15-21) in France.

The H160 is Airbus Helicopters’ new generation 5.5 to 6-ton twin-engine helicopter which incorporates innovative technologies and is tailored for a wide range of applications, including oil and gas operations, emergency medical services, public services, business and private aviation.

Vision Systems has been selected to manufacture six jettisonable windows per helicopter, comprising six different composite frames with complex geometries. The windows made of PMMA are tinted and bonded on thermo-compressed carbon frames. Vision Systems’ composite business unit will develop the composite frames in partnership with Compose, an integrator of complete turnkey solutions for plastic and composite parts. The project includes emergency mechanical unlocking systems, door seals, and bad weather windows.

“This project is very strategic for our composite business since it makes our company take a big step forward in the expansion of our composite product offer and will need further major investments in our new production plant.” stated Carl Putman, CEO, Vision Systems.

Vision Systems offers complete functional systems with breakthrough features that are easy to install and to maintain.
