Two window developments to be displayed by Vision Systems

At Aircraft Interiors Expo, to be held in Hamburg, Germany on April 4-6, 2017, Vision Systems will show its two latest developments – Nuance V2, its next-generation electronically dimmable window (EDW) and Acti-Vision Window, a ‘smart interactive window’.

Based on Suspended Particle Device (SPD) technology, Vision Systems’s EDWs provide infinite variable shading from fully clear to an extremely dark state (over 99.9% light blockage). They can be fitted on the production line or on retrofit programs. Nuance V2 features UV, IR and hydrophobic barriers, integrated electronics and a touch panel. Vision Systems says that with Nuance V2, haze is close to 3% and clarity as high as 99.8%.

Meanwhile, the Acti-Vision Window provides a touchscreen through which passengers can interact with maps, news and other content. An integrated SPD solution means the background can be adjusted from clear to dark.
