Spartech has unveiled a new sheet grade in its Royalite family called Royalite R105. This soft, vinyl foam laminated FR PVC/acrylic thermoformable sheet is designed to offer advantages such as low weight and fire protection. Spartech shared that the new aircraft material passes FAR 25.853 (a)(i) at 0.125in and FAR 25.853 (a)(ii) at 0.125in.
Royalite R105 is part of the RoyalAero collection from Spartech. The company said this sheet is resistant to staining, discolouration and cracking; meets heat deflection temperature requirements; and is available in thicknesses from 0.047in to 0.375in.
Royalite R105 sheets are primarily used in aircraft cabins, cockpits and for seat components. Spartech characterises R105 Soft Touch as a luxury option with a scratch-resistant surface and an “elegant, timeless” look, available in a range of colours.
Spartech exhibited at AIX 2024 in collaboration with ASP-Plastics. The Soft-Touch material was presented there.
