Tamarack Aerospace Group has developed a new inflight connectivity system that is purpose-built for the Cessna Citation light jet fleet. Powered by Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology, Tamarack AirConnect is designed to deliver broadband-class performance at altitude with no speed restrictions and no windshield interference.
The initial Tamarack AirConnect STC programme covers all models of the Cessna 525, 525A, and 525B. A Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) application has been submitted to the FAA and is currently progressing through the certification review process.
Tamarack says that is has already installed AirConnect on a customer-owned Cessna 525 (Citation CJ1), which has been operating since March 2026 under Experimental certification in support of the STC programme. The aircraft is owned and operated by a Citation pilot and early adopter who volunteered his aircraft to support Tamarack’s certification effort.
“We’ve been flying with the system since March, and it’s exactly what I was hoping for,” said the Citation CJ1 owner and pilot. “It just works. It’s always on, it’s fast, and I don’t have to think about it. That’s a big step forward from anything we’ve had before.
The Tamarack AirConnect system uses a permanently installed, aerodynamically optimised, fuselage-mounted antenna that maintains a clear view of the sky. Because the system is designed for use with an aviation-grade service plan, it operates with no ground speed restrictions, whether the aircraft is cruising at 400 knots or riding an 80-knot tailwind.
“LEO satellite technology has proven the performance,” said Nick Guida, CEO, Tamarack Aerospace Group. “What owners have been waiting for is a certified solution that’s engineered correctly and supported like any other aircraft system. That’s what we’re delivering with Tamarack AirConnect.”
The Tamarack AirConnect System includes a permanent, fuselage-mounted LEO satellite antenna with an aerodynamically optimised low-drag fairing; aircraft-grade cabin wifi distribution; certified electrical integration; and a complete FAA STC documentation package.
Once certified, Tamarack AirConnect is designed to be installed in approximately three days at a Tamarack-authorised service facility.
Tamarack AirConnect is designed to be compatible with a selection of LEO satellite networks, giving operators the freedom to choose the service plan and provider that best fits their operational profile. Tamarack AirConnect is intended to support service from Starlink, operated by SpaceX, and Amazon Leo, operated by Amazon.
Tamarack is now accepting reservations for installation.
