A Duncan Aviation avionics installation team from the company’s satellite facility in Atlanta, Georgia, recently finished installing Gogo Avance L5 on a Learjet 75 in the customer’s hangar in Birmingham, Alabama.
The preliminary wiring work had been completed earlier at Duncan Aviation’s satellite facility in Denver, Colorado, and the final installation of the Avance L5 box and MB13 antenna was completed after the FAA approved the STC in September 2025.
Duncan Aviation said that installing this system ensures customers will avoid obsolescence issues as Gogo modernises its ATG network with the activation of its new Long-Term Evolution (LTE) network in May 2026. Operators of Learjet 40/45/70/75 aircraft can now upgrade to Gogo’s Avance L5 wi-fi system and remain connected to the LTE network during flight.
Duncan Aviation, an authorised Gogo dealer, has installed the Avance L5 system on hundreds of larger-capacity jets over the past several years. The company said the new equipment enables passengers and crew on mid-size aircraft to achieve faster speeds, use more devices thanks to greater bandwidth, and enjoy streaming audio and video on personal devices in flight. Avance L5 keeps passengers and crew connected to Gogo’s LTE network and provides the opportunity to transition to the Avance LX5 system once that becomes available. Avance LX5 will access Gogo’s 5G network, with the replacement of a Line Replacement Unit.
Although developed by a third-party engineering firm, the licenses for the STC and the PMA installation kits for Avance L5 are available exclusively through Duncan Aviation, the company said.
Duncan Aviation shared that Gogo is offering up to $50,000 in rebates for upgrading from Gogo ATG to Gogo Avance, and that to receive the rebates, the Gogo promo form and the purchase order for parts must be submitted before 31 December 2025.
