Hamburg-based charter operator Platoon Aviation has signed a multi-aircraft purchase agreement with Textron Aviation for the Cessna Citation Longitude, which will make it the largest operator of the type in Europe. Deliveries of the Citation Longitude aircraft are expected to begin in 2027.
“From performance and cabin experience to the strength of our global support network, the Citation Longitude provides charter operators with the confidence to grow their fleets and serve customers at the highest level,” said Lannie O’Bannion, senior vice president, sales & marketing, Textron Aviation. “This agreement with Platoon Aviation underscores the Longitude’s leadership in the super-midsize segment and the trust customers place in Cessna and our team.”
The Citation Longitude is a super-midsize business jet seating up to 12 passengers. It has a range of 6,482km, a flat-floor stand-up cabin and is marketed as the quietest in its class. The aircraft is well suited to European charter operations, with the range to fly routes such as Hamburg to Madrid or London to Athens non-stop. It features fully berthable seats and an in-flight-accessible baggage compartment.
“The Citation Longitude fleet expansion reflects our commitment to building a future-proof, next-generation aviation platform that combines operational efficiency, sustainability and uncompromising comfort,” said said Deniz Weißenborn, CEO, Platoon Aviation. “The aircraft position us to meet the evolving expectations of modern travellers while giving our clients greater flexibility, reliability and connectivity across Europe and beyond.”
The Citation Longitude is powered by Honeywell HTF7700L engines and offers the lowest direct operating costs in its class, with 18-month/800-hour airframe inspection intervals. Textron’s LinxUs diagnostics system helps reduce maintenance downtime.
Textron Aviation supports European operators through five company-owned service centres, a network of authorised facilities, mobile service teams, a European parts distribution centre and 24/7 AOG assistance.
