Comlux America has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty cabin, developed in collaboration with DOA21, a subsidiary of the Comlux Group and a Design Organisation Approval holder.
The certification enables DOA21 to certify design modifications of ACJ TwoTwenty aircraft cabins in compliance with FAA regulations. With dual certification now in place from both the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the FAA, Comlux America can offer the ACJ TwoTwenty cabin to clients across North America. Customers will be able to acquire the cabin from Comlux America and register the aircraft under the FAA’s N-Number Registry in accordance with US aviation requirements.
The latest certification follows Comlux America’s previous FAA approval for the first Boeing BBJ Max 8 cabin.
“The entire philosophy of the Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty program has been to anticipate the customer’s needs and offer a product ready to meet their expectations. While no ACJ TwoTwenty to date is on the N register, today marks the biggest step forward in ensuring when this comes, it will be a timely, straightforward process,” says Adam White, chief executive officer of Comlux America.
“As CEO of DOA21, I am immensely proud of the team’s tenacity in obtaining this crucial approval from the FAA. This marks yet another significant milestone for the DOA and the whole Comlux team and another first for the ACJ TwoTwenty type,” says Peter Gaughan, chief executive officer of DOA21.
Comlux America says the FAA approval enables the company to support future ACJ TwoTwenty aircraft registered under US jurisdiction and streamline project execution for North American clients.
