AVIC Cabin Systems (ACS) and Diehl Aviation are to collaborate in various ways in the Chinese market. The agreement was signed at the Zhuhai Airshow, held in Zhuhai, China, on November 6-11, 2018.

The companies could collaborate in procurement and supply chain activities, manufacturing projects and marketing activities for cabin interior projects. Details of the organizational setup are still to be decided.

The aim is to enable the partners to join forces to cope with “growing demand for aircraft cabin products worldwide, and in China in particular”.

ACS was launched by AVIC in July 2018. It combines the forces of AVIC subsidiaries that focus on cabin interior under one umbrella – FACC and Fesher for floor-to-floor interiors, Thompson Aero Seating and Jiatai for business and economy seat technologies, and AIM Altitude for monuments and galleys.

ACS provides turnkey and fully integrated cabin solutions in both line-fit and retrofit markets. Customers include OEMs including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier and Embraer, as well as airlines. Diehl Aviation partners with aircraft manufacturers and operators to supply aircraft systems and cabin interior products.
