Lufthansa Technik shows Fireless Fireplace at EBACE

Lufthansa Technik has come up with a way to create a fireside ambience on board VIP and executive jets. The Fireless Fireplace design study will be shown at EBACE 2015, which will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 19-21, 2015. Lufthansa Technik said the design meets certification requirements.

The Fireless Fireplace is designed to look and sound like a real fireplace and also to emit warmth. It simulates a fire by illuminating water mist combined with an illuminated imitation of burning wood. The company believes this creates a very realistic 3D impression of a real fire, while the ‘flame’ is cold. Heat, sound and the intensity of the flame can be adjusted by a remote control.

The Fireless Fireplace weighs around 30kg excluding the surrounding interior design, and power consumption is up to 1,300W. The design can be adapted to each customer’s taste.
