Ruag Aviation has, for the first time, installed the Cobham Aviator 200 satcom on a Pilatus PC-12, in line with EASA standards. The communications solution, featuring complete office-in-the-sky functionality, was installed at Ruag’s site in Geneva, Switzerland, holder of the exclusive rights to Pro Star Aviation’s EASA STC for this aircraft model.

Pro Star Aviation, based at Manchester Boston Regional Airport in New Hampshire, owns the STC for the Aviator 200 and grants Ruag Aviation exclusive rights to offer it on the Pilatus PC-12 throughout Europe.

Cobham’s Aviator 200 satcom has a built-in router and wi-fi capability, enabling inflight email, internet browsing, connectivity for smartphones, tablets and laptops, and a AMBE2 voice channel. Multiple users can access the system at speeds of up to 200KB/s.

“Our aircraft was delivered on time, as promised, and we are fully satisfied with the new system’s capabilities and performance,” said Eurojet Holding’s chief pilot. “We are also very happy with Ruag Aviation’s services for maintenance and upgrades on our aircraft.”
