Pentastar Aviation to provide CJG’s CPDLC/FANS-1/A+ solution for Gulfstream aircraft

Pentastar Aviation has entered into a strategic alliance with Chicago Jet Group (CJG) to market and install CJG’s Controller Pilot Data Link (CPDLC) Future Air Navigation System (FANS) 1/A+ STC for Gulfstream aircraft.

“Due to the expected increase in air traffic volume in coming years, aircraft without the CPDLC/FANS-1/A+ technology will be unable to operate in premium airspace,” said Greg Schmidt, Pentastar Aviation’s president and CEO. “CJG’s solution allows Gulfstream owners and operators to fly in this designated airspace reducing fuel burn while achieving safer, clearer communications.”

FANS uses Data Link technology to allow position reporting and the ability for pilots to communicate clearly and directly with Air Traffic Control (ATC) via text messaging.

“We are very excited about this partnership,” said Mike Mitera, director of operations at CJG. “Pentastar’s extensive experience and technical knowledge provides us the utmost confidence in the proper installation of our solution.”
