New president and CEO at BizJet International

Thomas Kuhn (pictured) has become president and CEO of Lufthansa Technik’s US-subsidiary, BizJet International Sales and Support, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He succeeds Manfred Gaertner, who has been leading BizJet International since 2013. Kuhn was director of engineering services for Lufthansa Technik’s VIP & Executive Jet Maintenance business unit in Hamburg, Germany, since 2011.

Kuhn studied aeronautics and completed his education with a diploma. In 1989 he joined Lufthansa Technik as an aircraft engineer. Over the years he held various management roles, mainly in the Maintenance business unit. In 2008, Kuhn became sub-division manager, overhaul, at Ameco Beijing, a Lufthansa joint venture with Air China.

Gaertner will leave Lufthansa Technik at the end of July 2015 and will continue his career outside the Lufthansa Group.
