Acting on behalf of Airbus Corporate Jets for an ACJ320 customer, Airbus Corporate Jet Centre (ACJC) has completed the engineering, installation and certification of a new wi-fi solution that enables the internet to be used to make telephone calls. This retrofit work included the upgrade of an Airbus SwiftBroadband solution, encompassing the replacement of the aircraft’s top skin fuselage panel.

ACJC has full Airbus Design Organization Approval (DOA), which it says ensures that its retrofit solutions comply fully with Airbus’s quality, performance and aircraft architecture requirements. This complex integration was conducted in parallel with a major heavy maintenance check, including a landing gear overhaul.

“Thanks to our team’s agility and expertise in ACJ maintenance and communication system upgrades, we have successfully met our customer’s requirements for schedule and quality,” said Joël Frugier, general manager at ACJC.

“Our partnership with the Airbus Corporate Jets unit is the most optimized solution for demanding private individuals and governments that want high-end technologies and peace-of-mind maintenance services to Airbus standards.”
