Trainees begin their studies at Lufthansa Technik Group

August 30, 2017 – The Lufthansa Technik Group has welcomed 151 young people on traditional or dual-study training programs in Germany: 76 in Hamburg, 44 in Frankfurt, 16 in Arnstadt, 11 in Alzey and four in Munich. This year’s intake brings the number of people working toward professions in technical aircraft services or aircraft logistics at Lufthansa Technik in Germany to 569.

The company offers training in 15 professions and courses of study. It has already begun the selection process for 2018. The trainees are working to become aircraft mechanics specializing in repairs, engines or manufacturing; aircraft electronics specialists; electronics technicians for devices and systems; tool mechanics; surface coating technicians; warehouse logistics specialists; forwarding and logistics services specialists; aircraft engineers; electrical engineers; mechanical engineers; mechatronics specialists; and maintenance engineers specializing in aviation system engineering and management.

The company said it would continue its efforts to increase the number of women pursuing technology professions. This year, 13% of the new trainees are women – a 5% more than last year.
