During the Monaco Yacht Show (held on 23-26 September 2019), Lufthansa Technik revealed SkyRetreat, a VIP cabin concept for the ACJ220.

The design study envisions a minimalistic approach based on natural materials, including a wooden floor. The centrepiece is the Observation Deck, which extends the passenger cabin into the flight deck – the aim being to allow all occupants to enjoy immersive views.

While focussing on nature, the concept leaves room for the latest technologies, which are integrated discreetly. These include smart touch surfaces and a distinctive lighting concept, as well as an open deck with a central multifunctional element that can be converted from a DJ console to a catering buffet or a gaming interface.

“With its immersive Observation Deck and technical features, SkyRetreat provides a revolution when it comes to offering a unique and pure flying experience,” said Wieland Timm, senior director of sales for Lufthansa Technik’s VIP & Special Mission Aircraft division. “Tailoring the concept to the ACJ220, we are targeting an entirely new business section in which VIP jet owners, especially first-time ones, benefit from this extremely versatile VIP design for a reasonable investment.”

Besides its VIP completion capabilities, Lufthansa Technik supports the A220 family with an offering ranging from line maintenance to component and engine services.
