Final version of Lufthansa Technik/Mercedes-Benz Style VIP cabin shown at ABACE

Visitors to ABACE 2017 (held in Shanghai, China, on April 11-13) can experience a 3D presentation of the cabin concept developed by Lufthansa Technik and Mercedes-Benz Style for private Airbus or Boeing jets. Lufthansa Technik’s VIP & Special Mission Aircraft Services engineering team has led the development of the concept to its final version, which the company says meets airworthiness and certification requirements. A 3D scale model and material samples are also being shown at the event.

The aircraft is designed for 16 VIP passengers. The modern design eschews the traditional lining/wall arrangement, instead featuring a unique helix/spiral layout. The front of the aircraft includes an entrance area, galley and VIP bathroom, while at the aft there is an entertainment zone and private en-suite area. The latter has an open design, based around a free-standing shower with transparent sidewalls. There is also a king-size bed highlighted by a concave upholstered head wall.
