STC enables Gogo Avance L5 installation on Citation 750 at Duncan Aviation

Duncan Aviation has earned its eighth full-equipment STC for Gogo Business Aviation’s Avance L5 wi-fi system, enabling its installation on a Cessna Citation 750. The STC encompasses the wi-fi certification and installation of all the equipment (including the antenna) needed for access to the Gogo Biz 4G network.

This most recent STC was completed at Duncan Aviation’s full-service facility in Battle Creek, Michigan. All the STCs that the engineering and certification teams have completed for this system are available throughout the USA and it can be installed at any of Duncan Aviation’s three full-service facilities and at any of its 27 satellite shops and work-away stations.

Additionally, Duncan Aviation has sought and received STC approval from Transport Canada Civil Aviation for various Bombardier, Gulfstream and Dassault models, with approval pending for the Cessna Citation 680 and 750.

“Led by certification coordinator Ayui Murata, the engineering and certification team was supported by Duncan Aviation’s Organization Designation Authorization unit members and administrators as well as our friends at the Aircraft Certification Office in Wichita, Kansas,” said Shawn Carraher, manager of business development for engineering and certification. “Demand remains strong for inflight connectivity, and the Duncan Aviation STCs have been used for more than 183 installations of the Gogo Avance L5 wi-fi system.”

Gogo Avance L5 connects to the Gogo Biz 4G network, and is designed to deliver fast speeds and enhanced network capacity, enabling activities such as live-streaming of video and audio, video-conferencing, personal smartphone use, real-time data for cockpit apps, and remote diagnostics and support in flight.

For a limited time, Duncan Aviation is extending the free-of-charge period for Gogo Text & Talk and Gogo Vision subscription services to one full year. Gogo Text & Talk allows an aircraft’s crew and passengers to use their personal smartphones and devices to call and text in the air just as they do on the ground. Gogo Vision enables passengers to enjoy popular movies, TV shows, magazines, flight maps and more on their own devices during flight.
