Having already held inflight connectivity workshops for cabin crew, maintenance teams, technical engineers, pilots and flight departments in Europe, Asia and the USA, Satcom Direct (SD) will soon hold its first in Africa. The free-of-charge workshop will be held on April 6, 2017, at Fireblade’s FBO (pictured) at OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg.

The one-day event will be led by Brian Roos, business development manager for Africa, and Asif Ansari, technical support manager for the MEA region. They will be joined by experts from partners Cobham, Inmarsat, Panasonic and ViaSat.

The event will incorporate discussion of connectivity trends, product updates and live demos. “Passengers demand, and crew need, reliable connectivity,” said Chris Moore, chief commercial officer, SD. “The workshop provides easy access to information about the growing variety of connectivity options, and aims to support informed decision making when selecting connectivity products. We are committed to improving the sector’s understanding of the technology, and encourage anybody who works with connectivity to attend; you don’t even need to be an SD customer.”
