Innovative Advantage (IA) – a specialist in audio, video and data distribution systems (AVDS) for business aviation – introduced IAS 5, its fifth-generation software package, at NBAA-BACE 2024.
Engineered in-house by the IA engineering team, the new IAS 5 software package builds on existing capabilities, adding new advanced functionality and additional layers of robustness to the AVDS system.
IAS 5 calls upon over four years of listening to installers and maintenance professionals. It is designed to empower end-users to easily and efficiently troubleshoot on their own, providing immediate, detailed information and diagnostic tools to allow customers to easily assess most interconnecting systems’ performance.
The new functionalities include Safe Mode, whereby enhanced intelligent system monitoring isolates and shuts down specific problems in the system.
Another new capability is One-click Snapshot, whereby red/green health status is immediately reported to the user, continuously adding auto-checking for specific error log statements and providing clear instructions to technicians: actionable messages based on the health report, and cloud upload to IA support.
Other new features include Automated System Checkout – used by installers to run an automated checkout of the system; and enhanced visibility of interconnecting systems – including the status of COTS equipment and connected monitors, loudspeakers and other third-party equipment.
IAS 5 has already been successfully installed or updated, and is field-proven, IA said. It’s immediately available for implementation in aftermarket business aircraft.
