Astronics to acquire Telefonix

Astronics is working on the acquisition of “substantially all” the assets of Telefonix and Product Development Technologies (Telefonix PDT). The deal is expected to be finalized before the end of 2017, and is worth approximately US$104m.

Telefonix PDT has facilities in Waukegan and Lake Zurich, Illinois. It specializes in the design and manufacture of IFEC equipment including wireless access points, file servers, content loaders, PCUs and cord reels, and also offers design consultancy.

“We believe Telefonix is an excellent strategic fit with Astronics,” said Peter Gundermann, president and CEO of Astronics. “Telefonix is a leader in the critical equipment it designs and manufactures and has successfully established itself with an impressive set of aerospace customers. We believe that Astronics will be able to both strengthen and benefit from the technology and relationships that Telefonix brings to our company.”
