Touchless features, airflow management and UV-C feature in Diehl’s COVID-19 concept

Diehl Aviation has created a concept to help airlines address the operational challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and enhance passenger wellbeing on board. The Cabin Confidence Concept calls upon three areas of the company’s expertise.

Firstly, Diehl Aviation will apply its expertise in environmental control systems to optimise air circulation and humidity in the cabin, as well as disinfecting and purifying the air on board. Secondly, the company has been working for some time on numerous touchless features for aircraft cabins, particularly for lavatory environments. Lastly, UV-C technology will be used for disinfecting surfaces and water purification.

The company is now working on specific product solutions that it says will be available as soon as possible. In addition, the company offers products for immediate applications – including flight-ready disinfectant dispensers, cabin hygiene placards and hands-free lavatory handles.
