Honda Aircraft Company has announced that HondaJet Classic and APMG owners across the EU can now experience the latest advancements developed for the HondaJet product family, following type validation of the HondaJet APMG S upgrade package by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
The company says that validation of the upgrade programme also enables customers to purchase an earlier-generation aircraft with a clear path to APMG S enhancement or select a preowned aircraft that has already been upgraded.
Honda Aircraft Company is offering the APMG S modifications package through the company’s Greensboro, NC Service Centre as well as its global network of authorised service centres. In Europe, installations are available through Rheinland Air Service in Germany, a HondaJet authorised dealer.
“At Honda Aircraft Company, we are deeply committed to continuously enhancing value by bringing meaningful innovation to customers throughout their ownership journey,” said Amod Kelkar, senior vice president, chief commercial officer at Honda Aircraft company. “We are pleased to make these enhancements available to more customers across Europe and to continue supporting the success of the global HondaJet community.”
The HondaJet APMG S upgrade package introduces:
- Faster avionics processing through upgraded hardware and software, providing a foundation for future technology enhancements across the legacy HondaJet fleet.
- Advanced steering augmentation system (ASAS), a key feature introduced on the HondaJet Elite S, enhancing handling precision and crosswind capability.
- 300 lb (136kg) increase in maximum take-off weight (MTOW) over legacy aircraft, expanding useful load capability and operational flexibility.
- Graphical weight and balance functionality, enabling pilots to quickly calculate take-off and landing weights using loading and fuel data.
Following certification in the US and validation in Mexico and the EU, the APMG S upgrade package is now available to most of the HondaJet fleet. Honda Aircraft Company has applied for validation in further countries and says it will announce these as they are approved.
