West Star Aviation adds speaker-less audio system to Hawker 900XP

West Star has completed its first installation of the Bongiovi speaker-less audio system in a Hawker 900XP at its facility in Grand Junction, Colorado. With this system, the transducers are placed on the back of the interior panels, so the panels actually become the speakers. The aim is to give the cabin a more sophisticated look and sound, and to eliminate speakers and subwoofers, yielding weight savings.

“The dynamic range and frequency spectrum coverage is phenomenal throughout the aircraft,” said Walt Marcy, avionics technical sales manager at the Grand Junction facility.

“The immersive sound is unique in the way that the sound is distributed evenly throughout the cabin,” said Rob Hamelink of Bongiovi Aviation.

West Star Aviation specialises in the repair and maintenance of airframes, engines and APUs, avionics installations and repair, major modifications, interior refurbishment, exterior paint, accessory services and parts.
