FAA STC for Falcon 900 soundproofing kit

Skandia has received FAA STC approval for an acoustic soundproofing kit suitable for all variants of the Dassault Falcon 900. It is the fourth FAA STC to be awarded to a Skandia soundproofing acoustic solution. Skandia engineered and tested the soundproofing kit for the Falcon 900 series in 2021.

The kit is made available to operators with an à la carte menu of soundproofing material choices, including baggage damping, floor damping, thermal acoustic insulation bags, overframe blanket and carpet pad. Skandia has worked to create an intuitive kitting process with full installation instructions and guidelines.

There are more than 500 Falcon 900 series aircraft in service today.

“The Falcon 900 is a great aircraft and owners see value in improving the quality of the jet’s long-range capabilities,” said Garrett Ondrus, business unit manager at Skandia. “The system utilises our most technically advanced engineering and modern materials to produce a very quiet result. We have created the system in a way that owner/operators can select how much sound performance they want to add based on their budget, or how much weight they want to use. It is a smart solution that is going to bring a lot of enjoyment to these fast aircraft, especially for long-range trips. Our goal is to continue to apply this technology across all business aircraft of every class.”

Skandia acoustic system kits can be purchased directly from Skandia or through an MRO or completion centre.
