FAI Technik, a German business jet MRO provider, has been appointed an authorised dealer and installer of SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet system for aviation, effective immediately.
Installations will be carried out at FAI Technik’s maintenance facility at Albrecht Dürer Airport Nuremberg, Germany.
The company completed its first Starlink installation in June, equipping a Bombardier Global Express XRS, and has scheduled further installations across aircraft within its own fleet. Starlink installation services are also available to external aircraft owners and operators.
Starlink is designed to provide in-flight internet access supporting video conferencing, streaming, cloud-based applications and seamless online communication.
Michael Axtmann, managing director of FAI Technik, said: “Our appointment as an authorised SpaceX Starlink dealer and installer marks an important milestone in the continued expansion of FAI Technik’s modification and connectivity capabilities. As demand for high-speed, reliable connectivity continues to grow across the business aviation sector, we expect Starlink to become a highly attractive addition to the range of services and solutions we offer aircraft owners and operators.”
FAI Technik holds EASA Part-145 maintenance organisation approval and provides aircraft maintenance, modification and installation services from its Nuremberg base. Starlink adds to the company’s existing connectivity upgrade offering, which includes Gogo’s Galileo, Honeywell’s Ka-Band and Collins’ Ku-Band systems.
