Work is underway on a new building at Flying Colours Corp’s facility at the Spirit of St Louis Airport in St Louis, Missouri. The company is adding 40,300ft² of space, doubling the size of its cabinetry workshop and expanding its workforce by more than 70 workers (30%). The work should be complete by mid-December 2017. The multimillion-dollar investment was made after Flying Colours won a set of cabinetry projects that it is set to begin in the first quarter of 2018.

The cabinetry workshop will include a CNC room; a machine room; two temperature-controlled spray booths; insulated buffing and sanding sections; two varnish and paint mixing rooms; assembly, framing and finishing areas; and a curing room.

The project also includes upgrades to upholstery, avionics and engineering workshops. There will also be new production control planning and production management offices, conference rooms, storage areas and customer meeting areas.

“Our new building gave us a blank canvas on which we have designed and created the ultimate cabinetry workshop,” said Sean Gillespie, executive vice president, Flying Colours Corp. “It will look as pristine as an operating theatre when we open, provide a great working environment for our existing and new team members, and a superb location for customer visits.”
