The Bombardier Global 8000 has received US FAA certification. The ultra-long-range business aircraft received Transport Canada type certification on 5 November 2025 and entered into service in December 2025. Certification from the EASA is pending.
“This accomplishment is a direct result of the commitment to excellence and dedicated work of our highly skilled employees, suppliers, Transport Canada and the FAA for a collaborative, effective process,” said Stephen McCullough, SVP of engineering and product development at Bombardier. “Attaining the Global 8000 certification from the FAA sets new performance standards in the industry and marks one of the final chapters in our very successful development programme for this groundbreaking business jet.”
The Global 8000 offers four cabin zones, with a cabin altitude of 2,691ft when cruising at 41,000ft. Bombardier said the cabin altitude is the lowest in business aviation production, and “minimises the physiological stress typically associated with high-altitude travel, helping passengers arrive feeling refreshed, alert, and ready to perform”.
The aircraft has a top speed of Mach 0.95 – which Bombardier said makes it “the fastest civilian aircraft since the Concorde”. It has a maximum range of 8,000 nautical miles, and Bombardier said it has “take-off and landing performance comparable to that of a light jet”.
