At NBAA-BACE 2025, Bombardier announced a new top speed of Mach 0.95 for the upcoming Global 8000 business jet.
The aircraft is currently under development and remains to be finalised and certified. The OEM said the Global 8000 is on track to enter service in 2025 as the fastest civil aircraft since the Concorde, and the fastest business jet in history. The aircraft will also offer a range of 8,000 nautical miles.
“The Global 8000 was already the fastest business aircraft ever built, and with this new speed capability, this incredible aircraft is set to redefine the ultra-long-range market,” said Stephen McCullough, SVP of engineering and product development at Bombardier.
The first Global 8000 production aircraft completed its inaugural flight in May 2025, and interior completions are currently being wrapped up in parallel to final type certification activities.
The aircraft will feature four living spaces and a separate crew rest area. Bombardier said it will have “the longest seated length in its class” and an “ultra-low” cabin altitude.
