Katie Johnson, who joined West Star Aviation in 2014 as director of human resources, has been promoted to vice president of human resources.

Her mission is to roll out best practice company-wide – increasing recruiting efforts and employee engagement, and developing/implementing a training program.

Johnson has 13 years of experience in the aviation industry, working for companies including Sabreliner and Jet Aviation. Before joining West Star, she worked with a private company that connected job seekers with employers.

“Katie has led our HR team through substantial growth and is responsible for recruiting top talent and experienced individuals to join West Star’s roster of world-class technicians, sales managers and West Star personnel,” said Jim Rankin, CEO of West Star Aviation.

“Katie has increased visibility of our career opportunities, and will continue to focus on the need of current and future employees.”

“My passion is supporting our employees, and increasing the visibility of career opportunities at West Star,” said Johnson. “My team and I look forward to increasing employee communications, engagement, recognition and training at all of West Star’s locations.”

West Star Aviation specializes in the repair and maintenance of airframes, windows and engines, as well as major modifications, avionics installation and repair, interior refurbishment, surplus avionics sales, accessory services, paint and parts.
