Flying Colours, the North American maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO) and completions business, has appointed Scott Meyer as vice president and general manager of its St. Louis, facility with immediate effect.

Meyer is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, designing strategies for business evolution, and exploring new expansion opportunities. He is initially focusing on the implementation, integration and refining of business processes to increase efficiencies across the US facility, while ensuring FCC retains its reputation for delivering the highest standards.

With a background in project management, engineering and advanced composite materials Meyer brings technical expertise, combined with nearly 30 years of international aerospace and aviation management experience to the expanding US location.

Having previously held the position of CEO at a fully integrated completion, MRO, services and warranty centre for Bombardier, Boeing and Airbus aircraft, customers and colleagues will also benefit from his first-hand knowledge of the complexities of the VIP maintenance, completion and interior modifications sector.

Meyer commented, “I know the position with Flying Colours presents an amazing opportunity and I am really excited to get started. The ambitious growth strategy will leverage all of my experience as we continue to develop and transform operations.  Integration and reorganisation of Flying Colours Corp workshops and hangars will optimise the expertise of our highly skilled team to deliver increased efficiencies, reduce cycle times and provide robust project budget control. I also want to strive to enhance the work-life balance of every team member. This is core to sustaining the highest quality of work, paramount to exceeding our customer expectations and will foster further business growth potential.”

Meyer will report directly to the company’s president and CEO, John Gillespie. Gillespie commented, “Our team in St. Louis will welcome the guidance of someone as experienced as Scott. It is growing very quickly as the demand for our service has increased dramatically. As we continue to grow, we also need to ensure we maintain the high quality and standards we are known for. We needed someone with a pretty unique skill set to take the US facility to the next level and we believe Scott is that person. We are delighted to have him join us.”

Scott holds a degree in Aeronautical and Aerospace engineering from Purdue University and has relocated to St Louis from Indianapolis.
