Global 5000 refit revealed by Winch Design

Winch Design has announced the delivery of an end-to-end Bombardier Global 5000 refurbishment.

The work transformed a 10-year-old business jet into an individual statement. The brief from the client was to take the dated original cabin and create a bright and characterful space, personal to them.

The large art feature wall on the aft bulkhead was the starting point of the concept and its standout element. The piece was commissioned as an original artwork painted directly onto the bulkhead. The bold colours and abstract detail provide an arresting focus to the aft owner’s lounge upon entering the cabin. The installation was challenging, with the artist applying the artwork directly to the bulkhead using fully certified materials.

Drawing individual colours from the art piece, the interior then combines a mix of subtle geometry in the custom tufted carpet and embossed stitched leather bulkheads. The seats were completely re-styled using high-quality leathers to introduce a distinctly fresh and lighter feel to the cabin.

The interior installation and maintenance was carried out by Bombardier UK, and all interior cabin refurbishment by the AeroVisto team in Switzerland.

“The Winch Design team thoroughly enjoyed the fast turnaround of this bespoke interior refit,” said Jim Dixon, managing partner and creative director, yachts and aviation, Winch Design. “The art installation on the aft bulkhead presented several technical challenges, but the finished result creates a great impression!”
