GateHouse Global Xpress test tool recommended by Inmarsat

Having put GateHouse Telecom’s new Global Xpress Link Emulator (GLE) through its paces, Inmarsat has recommended its partners to use the tool when testing Global Xpress (GX) applications and solutions off-air without a terminal. The product is used to simulate a satellite connection and terminal.

“We recommend that new GX applications and solutions are thoroughly tested in any number of network scenarios and in different bandwidth conditions before being introduced to the market,” said Olaf Rostbakken, director of GX simulation and modeling.

“GateHouse’s GLE tool allows application developers and value-added manufacturers to do part of this in a controlled environment and can reduce the cost of testing in the process.”

The GLE can be used to test multiple SSPCs and possible signal degradation scenarios. It can simulate traffic congestion scenarios and optimize for minimum airtime usage.
