West Star hosts open house for expansion in Chattanooga

West Star Aviation announced the opening of its Chattanooga, Tennessee (CHA) facility expansion. An open house was celebrated on 19 July by local community leaders and West Star staff.

This is the first of the company’s major expansion projects, with additional expansions to follow at its sites in East Alton, Illinois; and Grand Junction, Colorado.

The expansion, which took about a year to complete, offers an additional 57,000ft² of hangar, shop and support space, bringing the footprint of the facility to 262,816ft². The company now operates from five hangars at the site. The expansion includes a dedicated Gulfstream hangar, additional finish and upholstery modification support, and a customer design centre.

“This Chattanooga, TN (CHA) expansion will ensure that West Star Aviation will be well-positioned to meet our growing customers’ needs,” said Jim Rankin, CEO, West Star Aviation. “The new hangar and additional space shows our continued commitment to implementing sustainable growth that benefits our customers, employees and the surrounding communities.”

“This expansion will benefit our valued customers and team members while also offering additional jobs in the community,” said Steve Goede, general manager at the CHA facility. “West Star is determined to elevate each customer’s experience with increased efficiency performed by our team of experts.”

West Star Aviation specialises in the repair and maintenance of airframes, engines and APUs, avionics installations and repair, major modifications, interior refurbishment, exterior paint, accessory services and parts. The company also provides complete FBO services for transient aircraft at its East Alton and Grand Junction facilities, as well as AOG/MRT services worldwide.
