Spirit Aeronautics expands FAA airframe maintenance ratings

Spirit Aeronautics has expanded its FAA-approved capabilities list with additional airframe ratings.

“We have always been an incredibly flexible company with a wide range of capabilities on a multitude of aircraft types from BBJs to Cessna Citations,” said Tony Bailey, president and COO of Spirit Aeronautics. “But we had a need to broaden our authorizations to include aircraft heavy maintenance inspections, to give our customers scheduling options that minimized their downtime during service events. After working diligently with our FAA inspectors and demonstrating our abilities, we were granted the additional authorizations. It is a great accomplishment.”

Airframe authorizations on Spirit Aeronautics’ FAA-approved capabilities list include maintenance and alterations, avionics repair and modifications, installation of IFEC systems and interior refurbishment and alterations. These authorizations span aircraft types including BBJs, Bombardier Challengers and Globals, Cessna Citations, Dassault Falcons, Gulfstream GII through GVSP, Learjets and Beechcraft King Airs – with new models being added as needed. Spirit Aeronautics’ authorizations even include the P-51 and Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik LZN07‐101 airship.
