RAS Group acquisition expands Jet MS’s services

Base and line maintenance specialist Jet MS, part of Avia Solutions Group, has acquired RAS Group, a UK-based provider of interior repair, manufacturing and exterior paint services for VIP and commercial aircraft.

The acquisition was made on 2 March 2021. Founded in 1996, RAS Group is based at London Biggin Hill Airport and comprises RAS Completions and RAS Interiors. The company’s VIP, business jet and commercial interiors expertise includes design, seating, galleys and cabin stowage. The group also has exterior paint expertise covering aircraft including helicopters and military aircraft.

London Biggin Hill Airport is one of the busiest private airports in Europe, and is 15 miles from central London. In terms of total aircraft movements in 2020, London Biggin Hill ranked second in the UK after Farnborough and sixth in the continent overall.

The airport is home to various aviation enterprises, including Bombardier’s European service centre, a 23,000m² (247,570ft²) facility capable of servicing as many as 14 Global 7500 aircraft simultaneously.

In addition to RAS Group’s interior and completion services, Jet MS plans to expand the offering to include base and line maintenance, as well as spare parts trading. The Jet MS team is working closely with the airport team to further these goals, and has a focus on further improving and expanding capabilities and employment opportunities for the future.

“The acquisition of RAS Group gives Jet MS a valuable and complementary range of services to offer its international clients,” said Vytis Žalimas, CEO at Jet MS. “We are excited to welcome RAS Group’s founders Russell Pitt and Chris Ransley, along with their industry-leading team, to our growing family of aviation professionals and we are thrilled about the next chapter of growth for our enlarged and strengthened group of businesses.”
