A BBJ 747-8 has been delivered following the installation of its 440m² VVIP cabin at Lufthansa Technik’s completion center in Hamburg, Germany. It is the second BBJ 747-8 the company has completed; a third is currently undergoing completion. At times, Lufthansa Technik has been working on three BBJ 747-8s in parallel.

“We have handed over an individually designed, state-of-the-art aircraft fitted with high-quality materials to meet the most discerning demands in terms of exclusivity and comfort,” said Walter Heerdt, senior vice president of VIP and executive jet solutions at Lufthansa Technik.

The company says the cabin “contrasts strongly with classic design”, and includes many new features, as well as materials used for the first time – which posed challenges for its engineers. The integrated CMS and IFE system incorporates broadband internet, GSM, WLAN, Live TV and satellite communication equipment.
