Honeywell signs with HAITEC for VIP cabin and cockpit upgrades

Honeywell has been selected by HAITEC Aircraft Maintenance to supply a range of avionics products to the company’s large-cabin VIP aircraft operators. The contract enables HAITEC to offer Honeywell’s cabin and cockpit solutions for installation on new and retrofit ACJ, BBJ, G550 and G650 jets, from its facility in Erfurt, Germany.

The agreement encompasses Honeywell’s IntuVue 3D weather radar, SmartTraffic traffic collision avoidance system and Ovation Select CMS, as well as other avionics equipment.

“As the global business jet market continues to face sluggish growth, many operators are investing in strategic retrofits and upgrades for their existing fleets, fueling aftermarket opportunities,” said Brian Sill, president, commercial aviation, Honeywell Aerospace.

The agreement builds on Honeywell’s existing arrangement with HAITEC to develop an STC for Honeywell’s JetWave hardware for two ACJ319 jets owned and operated by HAITEC customer Tyrolean Jet Services. The agreement, inked in 2014, marked the first business aviation operator to select JetWave for inflight wi-fi.
