A US$2.6m grant from the Maine Technology Institute (MTI) will be used by C&L Aviation Group to expand its component shop infrastructure with new equipment to support increased engineering and production. The investment will also lead to the creation of more jobs over the course of three years.

“We’re very excited about the future,” said Chris Kilgour, CEO at C&L. “This funding is critical in helping us ramp up quickly and provide additional services such as increased component repair capabilities, STC product development and engineering solutions for our customers. This grant is a step in that direction and to us hiring more skilled employees.”

The grant is contingent upon a 100% match to fund the US$5.7m project.

C&L’s services include parts support, heavy maintenance, cabin refurbishment, aircraft teardown, disassembly, aircraft management, and aircraft and engine sales and leasing.
