Constant Aviation has received an STC for the installation of the ATG-8000 package on the Embraer Legacy 600/650/Shuttle.

Installation of the ATG-8000 package, Gogo’s ATG-4 air-to-ground connectivity system for business aviation, provides the Embraer series aircraft with wi-fi internet capabilities including web browsing, email and video conferencing during domestic flights. The ATG-8000 is a new system to corporate aviation, but is flying on more than 650 commercial aircraft utilizing the ATG-4 network. The equipment consists of dual terrestrial modems, four external directional antennae and dual 802.11N wi-fi routers.

“With the addition of the ATG-8000 STC, we now own a total of 15 wi-fi STCs for numerous aircraft,” said Derek Morris, design and engineering manager, Constant Aviation. “Our in-house design and engineering, coupled with on-staff DER and DAR capabilities, give us the ability to complete any upgrade modification requiring an STC. From conception, to design and test, and all the way through final certification, all aspects are handled within our group.”
