Aero-Dienst has signed a framework agreement with Turbine Engine Specialists (TES) to collaborate on repair services for engines and auxiliary power units (APUs) from Honeywell.

Aero-Dienst provides business aviation and air ambulance services and is headquartered in Nuremberg, Germany. TES is an MRO provider based in Dallas, Texas.

This arrangement is intended to provide an even more flexible and smooth service for business jets based in Europe that are equipped with TFE731-series and HTF7000-series engines, as well as APUs from the GTCP36-100/150 and RE100/220 series.

Troubleshooting requests at Aero-Dienst and TES are channelled to whichever of the two authorised Honeywell channel partners can provide support promptly and holds the appropriate certification for the service. This will continue to evolve as TES develops its presence within the EMEA market.

This means that Aero-Dienst takes on AOG support requests for Europe received by TES in the USA, and completes the troubleshooting and necessary service work with its specialised engine team. The same goes for engine service requests for regularly planned maintenance and repairs on jets based in Europe (Learjets, Falcon jets, Citation aircraft, etc.). Aero-Dienst will take on ongoing major periodic inspections (MPIs) that are not covered under the MSP maintenance programme, and TES will handle MSP-covered MPIs, as well as all larger overhauls and repairs on the APUs as certifications and capabilities allow.

This Maintenance Services Agreement is the result of a long-term collaboration between the two organisations. Aero-Dienst has already conducted the majority of post-loan inspections (PLIs) on 36-100 and 36-150 Loaner APUs from TES since 2021 in support of assets stored and located in support of EMEA customers from the TES-owned Honeywell APU Rental Bank. “We greatly appreciate the cooperation with TES since we together are now even better positioned to service engines and APUs for aircraft operators in Europe,” said Andrea Weyrich, manager, maintenance engine shop, Aero-Dienst.

“At TES, we value our long-standing partnership with Aero-Dienst,” said Stefan O’Hare, chief operating officer at TES. “Their technical expertise and commitment to delivering exceptional customer solutions align perfectly with our own values. We have immense respect for the Aero-Dienst brand and the trust they’ve earned across the EMEA market.”

Engine service has been one of Aero-Dienst’s core competencies for more than 55 years. The company is recognised as a Honeywell major mobile channel partner and authorised maintenance provider for HTF7000 engine nacelles, as well as being a GE authorised service centre, a Rolls-Royce authorised service centre, and a Pratt & Whitney designated maintenance facility.

For more than 45 years, Learjet, Hawker, and Falcon operators have entrusted their TFE731 engines to Aero-Dienst for maintenance and repair. The engine team has performed more than 300 MPIs over the past 18 years.

In addition to its headquarters in Nuremberg, Aero-Dienst also operates stations in Austria (Vienna and Klagenfurt) and a maintenance station near Munich in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. Its component shop in Landsberg am Lech, Germany, allows Aero-Dienst to provide local repairs for maintenance operators in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
