Steep approach certification imminent for Challenger 350

Bombardier says its best-selling Challenger 350 will soon have steep approach certification, enabling it to land at airports such as London City Airport in the UK, which has a 5.5° approach angle and short runway.

The aircraft has completed its flight test campaign for the certification, which it expects to be greenlighted later in 2018. The Challenger 350 also made several take-offs and landings at London City Airport to demonstrate its capabilities.

Challenger 350 operators will be able to take their aircraft to one of Bombardier’s service centers to have the capability retrofitted.

Bombardier says highlights of the super-mid-size aircraft include its acoustical insulation, wide cabin, touchscreens and connectivity.
